Bulgarian President Rumen Radev expressed gratitude to Spain's King Felipe VI for his country's contribution to the fight against the large forest fires in Bulgaria in July.

"My deep gratitude to King Felipe VI for the timely contribution of Spain in fighting severe fires in Bulgaria and the demonstrated professionalism of the plane crews," Radev’s post on X reads.

Following urgent activation of the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, teams from Spain and Czechia joined in extinguishing the wildfires.
