site.btaBulgarian Parliamentary Delegation Will Visit Azerbaijan on March 4 

A Bulgarian parliamentary delegation, led by National Assembly Chair Zhelyazkov, will pay an official visit to Azerbaijan on March 4, said the National Assembly. The visit is at the invitation of the Chairwoman of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament) Prof. Dr. Sahiba Gafarova. 

The two will hold a one-on-one meeting, after which the plenary talks between the representatives of the parliaments of Bulgaria and Azerbaijan will begin. Zhelyazkov will sign the honorary book of official guests of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis. 

At the beginning of the visit, the Bulgarian parliamentary delegation will pay homage to the memory of national leader Heydar Aliyev in the Alley of Honour. The MPs are also scheduled to lay a wreath at the Alley of Martyrs memorial later. 

During the official visit to Baku, National Assembly Chair Rosen Zhelyazkov will also hold talks with President Ilham Aliyev. 

The Bulgarian delegation includes MPs from the Bulgaria-Azerbaijan Friendship Group Desislava Trifonova (GERB-UDF), Hamid Hamid (MRF) and MPs Angel Georgiev (Vazrazhdane), Dragomir Stoynev (BSP for Bulgaria) and Toshko Yordanov (There Is Such a People). 

On September 12, 2023, the Chairwoman of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova visited Bulgaria at the invitation of Rosen Zhelyazkov. The two discussed the opportunities for advancing the parliamentary dialogue between the Bulgarian National Assembly and the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis.
