The Bulgarian Christmas fundraising gala concert raised donations of over BGN 2.89 million, the President's press centre said on Thursday. The twenty-second annual edition of the initiative continues with the aim to provide high-tech equipment for early diagnosis and modern treatment.
The Bulgarian Christmas, held under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, aims to encourage donation, help solve significant problems for society, concerning children's health, and support the treatment of children, reads the initiative's website.
The concert on Christmas Day was attended by President Rumen Radev, National Assembly Chair Nataliya Kiselova, caretaker Health Minister Galya Kondeva, caretaker Defence Minister Atanas Zapryanov, Tourism Minister Evtim Miloshev, Bulgarian Patriarch Daniil, representatives of State institutions, diplomats, donors, campaign ambassadors, doctors and children supported by the Bulgarian Christmas.
Prominent Bulgarian musical performers supported the charity campaign in aid of children in need with their participation in the concert. The event featured performances of beloved Bulgarian songs accompanied by the Bulgarian National Radio Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Georgi Miltiyadov, and performed by Edelina Kaneva and Kristina Kokorska, Vesselin Marinov, Nikola Todorov, Lazar Kisyov and Kristina Ivanova, Dicho, Teddy Katzarova, Roberta Ballet, Destiny Quartet, Ruslan Maynov, the Bulgarian National Radio Children's Choir conducted by Venetsia Karamanova, Gergana Karapanova and the Saglasie Ballet Studio, Belcanto Quartet, Bon-Bon Children's Vocal Group, National School of Dance Art, LaTiDa, Fida Trio, Elya Todorova, The Five Seasons, Efemia Fard's Ballet from Sofia's First English Language School, Tenori d'Amore, Kotseto Kalki, Martina Tabakova, Teodor Georgiev and the Medicus Band
This year's Christmas charity show was hosted by Petya Dikova and Ruslan Maynov.
