Bulgaria’s Foreign Ministry and Jordan Health Aid Society International Thursday signed a grant agreement for the implementation of a project titled "First Aid Training in Women-headed Households in Zaatari Refugee Camp", which is funded under the Bulgarian Official Development Assistance. The signing took place at the Bulgarian Embassy in Amman, the Bulgarian diplomatic mission said on Facebook.
The document was signed by the Bulgarian Ambassador in Amman, Metin Kazak, on behalf of the Foreign Ministry and the President of the Jordan Health Aid Society International, Dr. Yaroup Ajlouni.
The project is worth BGN 36,000, of which BGN 29,000 is funded under the Bulgarian Official Development Assistance. It is aimed at improving the health conditions of refugees in the Zaatari refugee camp, which is inhabited by some 90,000 Syrian nationals.
Dr. Yaroup Ajlouni spoke about his organization, which has extensive experience and has been implementing large-scale humanitarian projects in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, one of which is related to round-the-clock midwifery coverage in Zaatari Camp.
