Parliament on Thursday appointed a committee of eight members to audit the annual financial statements of the Bulgarian National Audit Office (BNAO) for 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023. The draft decision was introduced by the National Assembly's Budget Committee.

Krasimir Valchev MP of GERB-UDF was elected chairman of the committee. The members are Georgi Ganev from Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria, Dimo Drenchev of Vazrazhdane, Elvan Gyurkas of MRF, Rumen Gechev of BSP for Bulgaria, and Toshko Yordanov of There Is Such a People.

The committee also includes registered auditors Marian Nikolov and Katerina Shopova.

The committee is to prepare a report on the statements of the Court of Auditors to be submitted to the National Assembly for consideration by September 30, together with the statements for 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023.

The National Assembly ratified the international documents to which Bulgaria is a party - an amendment to the constitutive treaty of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, amendments to the agreement establishing the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, as well as the agreement on multiannual support for the implementation of the evaluation plan of the Education Programme 2021-2027.
