A minimum number of changes of ministers in the cabinet in the upcoming rotation will give more peace of mind to the public, Continue the Change co-chairman Kiril Petkov told journalists in Varna on Monday.

In his words, the formation will support Mariya Gabriel for prime minister, Nikolay Denkov for deputy prime minister, and Assen Vassilev for finance minister.

If there are ministers who have not done their job and have not fulfilled their agenda, they should be revised, Petkov added. According to him, the assessment should be made by Gabriel and Denkov. Making changes for purely political purposes is not appropriate, Petkov said.

The CC co-leader added that assessments by branch organisations should be considered when making decisions on cabinet changes. In his words, however, those assessments are too divergent.

Petkov also said that the government, with the support of Parliament, is developing an anti-inflation programme by categories, which will allow in a few months inflation in the country to become one of the lowest in the European Union. He added that talks were also underway with mobile operators to find a compromise and keep prices acceptable. The aim is to bring down inflation in the country through various measures in a free market, Petkov said. In his words, after the talks with mobile operators similar steps will be taken with regard to foods.
