Bulgarian Ambassador to Norway Dessislava Ivanova conferred with Deputy Minister of Education and Science Emilia Lazarova and a delegation she led, which included representatives of the Education Ministry, the Centre for Educational Integration of Children and Students from Ethnic Minorities, and school principals and mediators working with the Roma community in Bulgaria, the Bulgarian Embassy in Norway said on its website.
Ivanova stressed that working with Bulgarian communities abroad is among the priorities in Bulgaria's foreign policy. She introduced Lazarova to the activities of the Bulgarian community organizations in Norway and noted their contribution to keeping Bulgarian traditions and culture alive.
Ivanova expressed her gratitude to the Education Ministry for the support it provides to Bulgarian Saturday and Sunday schools abroad and to the Rodna Rech [Native Speech] Bulgarian Sunday School in Norway. As a result of the good cooperation between the Bulgarian Embassy in Oslo and the school, since the beginning of 2024, the Embassy has provided the school with a second apartment in the building where it is housed, enabling it to expand its facilities, activities, and increase the number of children studying in it.
