site.btaUPDATED Second Conference in Series of Events on Preparation of Bulgaria's Foreign Policy Strategy to be Held on Monday

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mariya Gabriel will host a conference entitled "Young people and Bulgaria's foreign policy strategy: the critical voice" on Monday, January 15, in Sofia, the Foreign Ministry said in a press release. It is the second conference in the planned series of events on the preparation of Bulgaria's foreign policy strategy, which is being held on the initiative of Gabriel.

The Foreign Ministry says that the forum is aimed at young people and will give them the opportunity to share their views and vision on the formulation of the country's foreign policy priorities. Young people's views on the prospects for Bulgarian foreign policy, which is being implemented in a dynamically changing international and regional environment, will contribute to responding to contemporary challenges, including the green transition, digitalization, new trends in energy, economic and cultural diplomacy, Bulgaria's active membership in the EU and NATO, and care for Bulgarians abroad.

The event is taking place on Monday, January 15, at the House of Europe at 10:00. Students from different universities, and colleges, young delegates to the UN, and representatives of youth organizations are expected to participate.

In early December 2023, Gabriel opened and hosted the conference "Bulgaria's Foreign Policy Strategy - Challenges and Opportunities" at the House of Europe.  The initiative to adopt such a strategic document aims to increase transparency, predictability and public support for Bulgarian foreign policy and to form an inter-institutional consensus on clearly formulated foreign policy priorities.
