A high-level meeting between Bavaria and Bulgaria will take place in Munich in April, said the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mariya Gabriel paid a working visit to Bavaria where she was a keynote speaker at the annual conference of the Christian Social Union members of Parliament. She was invited by Alexander Dobrindt, deputy leader of CDU/CSU group in the Bundestag.
Within the framework of her visit, Gabriel held a series of bilateral meetings, including European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and MEP Angelika Niebler.
After Gabriel’s meeting with Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Soder came the news that a Bavaria-Bulgaria high-level meeting will take place in Munich in April.
"Bulgaria and Bavaria share common goals in the fields of innovation, industry and security. Key sectors are AI, robotics, and the automotive industry. Together we can achieve more by promoting cooperation between higher education and industry," said the Deputy Prime Minister.
Bavaria’s is Bulgaria’s largest foreign trade partner out of the 16 German provinces. Bulgaria and Bavaria are traditionally good partners in terms of FDI.
"With this high-level meeting we aim to advance our bilateral cooperation. Unity, concrete actions and benefits for the citizens – this is our message,” said Gabriel.
