President Rumen Radev Monday held a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mariya Gabriel and the heads of security services on the situation in the Middle East and the condition of the Bulgarian nationals on the crews of the ships Galaxy Leader and Ruen that were hijacked in the area.

The meeting discussed the diplomatic actions undertaken by Bulgaria to inform the State in a timely manner about the situation of the Bulgarians on the hijacked ships as well as the opportunities for strengthening communication and coordination between Bulgaria and its partners in these cases.

Earlier on Monday, Bulgarian Transport Minister Georgi Gvozdeikov said that the sailors onboard the Ruen are well.

On Sunday, Gabriel said that Bulgaria is in constant contact with all institutions, including international partners that can provide assistance in this extremely difficult situation.
