site.btaModern Dental Technology Centre Opens at Sofia Medical University

A modern dental technology centre opened at the Dental Medicine Faculty with the Sofia Medical University on Tuesday. 

In his opening remarks Dental Faculty Dean Prof. Bozhidar Yordanov said that the centre will be used for pre-clinical work. 

The centre has five halls with 12 computerized working stations each. In addition, there will be a library and reading room and more halls will be fitted with dental equipment such as lasers, 3D scanners and electromyography machines. The centre will train postgraduate students and young dentists. Yordanov said that 90% of dental schools in Germany have such centres. 

Medical University Rector Lachezar Traikov said: “Our aim was to create a space where to introduce digital training and modern simulative methods and allow future dentists to work with the latest equipment.
