site.btaBorder Traffic Update
Traffic is intense at some border crossing checkpoints with Romania, Serbia and Turkiye on Saturday morning, Border Police said on their website.
At the border with Romania, traffic is intense at Kardam and Nikopol at the exit for trucks. For passenger cars, traffic is heavy at the entry and exit of all crossing points. As of 23:30 on Thursday, the ferry platform serving Oryahovo - Becket has suspended operations due to an electrical problem.
Due to major repairs on the Bulgarian section of the Danube Bridge at Ruse, temporarily traffic passes through a single lane and is regulated by traffic lights. In addition to Ruse, drivers can also head to the checkpoints Silistra, Kardam, Durankulak, Kainardzha and Krushari. The last two have working hours from 08:00 to 20:00 every day and no goods vehicles are allowed through them.
At the border with Greece, traffic is normal at all border crossing points. In view of the significantly increased crossings at the Kulata and Makaza BCPs and the large number of Romanian tourists travelling to and from Greece, Border Police recommend the use of alternative crossing points at the Bulgarian-Greek border, which are less congested and allow faster crossing. Only cars and vans are allowed to pass through the border crossing points Makaza, Zlatograd and Ivaylovgrad.
At the border with Serbia, traffic is heavy at Kalotina at the entrance for cars and trucks.
At the border with North Macedonia, traffic is normal at all border crossing points.
At the border with Turkiye, traffic is heavy at Kapitan Andreevo’s exit for cars.
