The voter turnout in the local elections was 44.94% as at 8 pm on October 29, show the latest data published by the Central Election Commission on Tuesday. The data is based on 2,713,979 voters out of the 6,038,622 with the right to vote.

The voter turnout was 34.16% as at 4 pm on election day, when 2,062,644 people had voted, and 13.88% as at 11 am, when 837,889 had cast their votes.

Under the law, the election day ends at 8 pm but can be extended to 9 pm if there are voters waiting to exercise their franchise.
