The MPs of the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) will not attend the National Assembly’s plenary sitting on Friday, BSP leader Korneliya Ninova told journalists on Thursday. The Parliament’s agenda on Friday includes vote on the presidential veto on the amendments to the Energy Act. On October 19, President Rumen Radev vetoed amendments which envisage full liberalization of the electricity market for household consumers by 2026.

"We will not enter [Parliament], we will not provide quorum", Ninova stressed, sharing that such action of theirs may prevent the "anti-human" decisions of GERB leader Boyko Borissov from being taken.

"We believe that taking household consumers out of the free market will result in many individuals and families not being able to pay their bills“, she added.

On Thursday, the Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria coalition and Vazrazhdane said they would not participate the extraordinary session of the National Assembly on Friday.
