site.btaCabinet Approves 2023 Plan for Implementation of Updated National Strategy for Population Development in Bulgaria (2012 - 2030)

The Council of Ministers Wednesday approved the 2023 Plan for the implementation of the Updated National Strategy for Demographic Development of the Population in the Republic of Bulgaria (2012-2030). The document includes up-to-date measures to promote fertility by creating an environment conducive to raising and educating children, improving reproductive health and the general health of the population, and reducing mortality.

The Plan contains measures promoting employment, reducing poverty, adapting social systems to demographic change and population ageing, and creating conditions for equal access to quality pre-school and school education. All measures are aimed at positively influencing the main demographic indicators - birth, mortality and migration rates, as well as at developing the quality of human resources.
