"If the parliamentary elections were held now, we would have a 5-party parliament with the main political forces of the 49th National Assembly and with a more pronounced fight for third place," Market LINKS sociologist Dobromir Zhivkov said on Wednesday on the morning programme of bTV.

The results are based on a nationwide survey, funded and implemented jointly by bTV and Market LINKS, conducted among 1,032 adults in Bulgaria between September 26 and October 8, 2023, via face-to-face interviews and an online survey.

The electoral attitudes among those who declared readiness to vote are the following:

  • GERB-UDF - 23.6%
  • Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) - 17.5%
  • Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) - 12.4%
  • Vazrazhdane - 11.1%
  • Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) - 7.9%

"The gap between GERB and CC-DB is slightly increasing, but remains within stable limits. The Left! party remains below the 4% threshold, There Is Such a People also maintains a level around 4%. We do not expect and do not observe any significant dynamics concerning the MRF, as in the case of the other political forces. However, all this may change after the local elections and shifts may happen," Zhivkov said.

According to the poll, the greatest distrust among voters is in the National Assembly - 63%. The court and the prosecution follow with 59% and 58%. The government ranks fourth with a 53% disapproval rating.

According to the sociologist, there is a gradual increase in trust in the government and the main political figures.

"This cabinet started with a very low point of trust entirely in the institutions and the political elite. To some extent it is normal to see improvement," Zhivkov said.
