Sofia Municipality banned a march organized by the Committee for the Defence of Jerusalem, the municipality told BTA on Friday.

Sofia Municipality has been notified of a planned march organized by the Committee for the Defence of Jerusalem for October 13, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm with a meeting point in front of the National Place of Culture and along a route down Blvd. Vitosha, Blvd. Knyaz Aleksandar Dondukov and to the building of the Presidency.

Based on the opinions of the State Agency for National Security (SANS) and the Sofia Regional Directorate to the Interior Ministry, the Mayor of Sofia Municipality has issued an order to ban the march on the grounds of the Law on Gatherings, Meetings and Manifestations, the municipality said.

The Sofia Regional Directorate to the Interior Ministry told BTA that they have information that such an event is being organized and will be responsible for the protection of public order.
