Bulgaria’s economic, investment and industrial cooperation with France should meet the scale of French cultural presence in the country, President Rumen Radev said at a meeting with visiting French Secretary of State for European Affairs Laurence Boone.

The two sides highlighted the strong traditions of Franco-Bulgarian cooperation in a number of areas, as well as the opportunities for building on bilateral cooperation in economy, energy, defence industry, science, education and culture. President Radev expressed Bulgaria's gratitude for France's consistent support for the country's accession to Schengen.

Radev and Boone also discussed issues on the EU agenda and the European perspective of the Western Balkans, the military conflicts in Europe's neighbouring regions and their consequences.
