Elka Nalbantova has been appointed Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Policy by order of Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov, the government press service reported on Monday.

Nalbantova has experience in managing projects in the fields of children's welfare, social services and the reform of deinstitutionalization of childcare. She held the position of advisor to the political cabinet of the Minister of Labour and Social Policy.

Between 2019 and 2023 Nalbantova worked as a Child Protection Expert at the Project Management Unit for the pilot implementation of the EU Child Guarantee in Bulgaria under a UNICEF Bulgaria contract with the European Commission and the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy.

She holds a Master's degree in Biology from Paisii Hilendarski University of Plovdiv. She has acquired additional qualifications as a psychologist.

By another order of the Prime Minister, Maya Vassileva has been dismissed from the post of Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Policy.
