site.btaBulgarian Air Force Participates in Military Transport Aircraft Exercise in Romania

The Bulgarian Air Force (BAF) participates in the European exercise Spartan, which takes place at Base 90 Air Transport Otopeni from October 2 to 12. BAF is taking part with flight and engineering staff and C-27J Spartan aircraft, the Defence Ministry press service reported on Friday.

The exercise will also see participation from Romania, Italy and Lithuania. This year's exercise is focused on the execution of tactical air transport tasks, including air medical assistance.

The European military transport aircraft exercise Spartan is being held for the seventh time. Joint participation in exercises and training in an allied and multinational format contributes to building and improving the capabilities to plan and execute joint Armed Forces missions, as well as to enhanced interoperability, the Defence Ministry said.
