Acting Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov is on a working visit to The Hague, the Netherlands, where he will participate in the 17th meeting of the Consultative Forum of Prosecutors General and Directors of Public Prosecutions of the EU Member States. Representatives of Eurojust, the European Public Prosecutor's Office and the European Commission are also attending the forum, the prosecuting magistracy said in a press release here on Thursday.

The meeting’s agenda will focus on the legislative initiatives of the EU related to the Russian aggression in Ukraine, including the role of Eurojust in this area. There will be an update on ongoing investigations into war crimes committed in Ukraine.

Challenges to law enforcement related to environmental protection and green transition will also be discussed during the forum.

The Consultative Forum of EU Prosecutors General has been operating since 2010 within the framework of Eurojust, the judicial cooperation unit of the EU, whose aim is to coordinate investigations and prosecutions and secure cooperation between the competent authorities of the Member States in relation to serious cross-border and/or organized crime.
