General Directorate Border Police reported of two cases of undocumented migrants that were apprehended in Bulgaria on Wednesday.

On Wednesday evening, a border police unit from the department in Elhovo stopped and inspected an Iveco truck driven by a 41-year-old Turkish national near the village of Okop, Southeastern Bulgaria. The officers found 16 migrants in the back of the truck - 3 women and 13 men. The foreigners had no ID and said that they were Syrian nationals. The driver and the migrants were detained at the Elhovo Border Police Station.

Police officers from the Burgas Border Police Department stopped a Toyota driven by a 27-year-old Belarusian citizen near the village of Debelt, Southeastern Bulgaria. Six undocumented migrants were found in the vehicle. The men are allegedly Syrian nationals.

Nearly 500 attempts of illegal immigrants to illegally enter Bulgaria from Turkiye were prevented in the last 24 hours.
