site.btaCabinet Approves Revisions to Tobacco Act, to Ban Flavoured Heated Tobacco Products

Proposed revisions to the Tobacco Act provide for banning the sale of flavoured heated tobacco products. The revisions were approved by the government at its weekly meeting Wednesday.

Labelling requirements for heated tobacco products are also introduced.

The bill aims to align national legislation with Delegated Directive (EU) 2022/2100, raise consumer awareness of the risks of using these products and create national legislation that complies with EU law on the manufacture, presentation and sale of tobacco and related products.
