site.btaDefence Minister Confers with Dutch Ambassador

Defence Minister Todor Tagarev conferred here on Friday with the Dutch Ambassador to Bulgaria, Simon van der Burg, the Defence Ministry reported. 

The two described as excellent the cooperation between the two countries in the field of defence.

The main topics of discussion were the security risks in the Black Sea region and the need to prevent an escalation of tensions, NATO's commitment to increase defence budgets, as well as projects to improve military mobility.

When discussing support for Ukraine, Minister Tagarev highlighted as a significant positive signal Bulgaria's accession to the G7 joint declaration on providing long-term security support to Ukraine.

Other highlights of the talks were the joint Air Policing mission and participation in joint exercises.
