Traffic is normal at all border crossing points on Bulgaria's borders with Romania, Greece, Serbia, the Republic of North Macedonia and Turkiye, Border Police said. The information is valid as at 6 a.m. on Wednesday.
Temporary traffic changes are in effect on the Danube Bridge at Ruse until January 7 due to major repairs on the Bulgarian section of the bridge, with traffic in both lanes, Border Police recalled. Drivers can take alternative routes through the checkpoints at Silistra, Kardam, Durankulak, Kaynardzha, and Krushari. The last two of these are closed to trucks and are open to passenger cars from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
At the border with Greece, only cars and vans are allowed to pass through the Makaza, Zlatograd, and Ivaylovgrad border crossing points.
At the Bulgarian-Turkish border, traffic through the Malko Tarnovo border crossing is temporarily limited to one lane due to reconstruction work.
The Romanian-flagged ferry Europa, which connects Bulgaria's Nikopol border crossing with Romania's Turnu Magurele, has temporarily halted service because of a mechanical fault.
The Bulgarian-flagged ferry Bdin on the same route is operational, with passenger and vehicle handling proceeding as usual.
