Bulgarian customs officers have seized 3.685 kg of investment gold and gold castings from the cabin of a truck at Danube Bridge-2 at Vidin, the Customs Agency said Tuesday.

On November 29, customs officers stopped a truck with a foreign registration en route from Switzerland to Turkiye. The Turkish driver, identified as D.K., said he had nothing to declare. The inspectors found packages wrapped up in black foil under the pillow on the cab bed and in the lining of the driver's jacket. They contained four 100-gram bars of 999.9 investment gold and three gold castings weighing 3.285 kilograms.

The operation which led to the seizure involved the Customs Agency, the Border Police, the General Directorate for Combating Organized Crime and the National Revenue Agency, the press release said.
