site.btaTwo Bulgarian Theatres Participate in Kumanovo Days of Comedy
The state-run theatre companies of the Bulgarian towns of Pleven and Vratsa are taking part in the 27th Days of Comedy in Kumanovo, North Macedonia, which are underway between September 24 and October 9. Eleven comedy plays from North Macedonia, Bulgaria and Serbia will be presented during the festival.
In addition to Pleven and Vratsa, the other participating theatre companies are from Nis and Vranje in Serbia and from Ohrid, Skopje, Stip, Tetovo, Veles and Kumanovo in North Macedonia.
The festival opens with Le Dîner de cons (The Dinner Game) by French playwright and film director Francis Veber, produced by the theatre in Veles.
On September 26, the Vratsa theatre will present Das Brautkleid (The Wedding Dress) by Austrian playwright Stefan Vögel. The Pleven theatre production of Traži se novi suprug (Wanted - A New Husband) by Miro Gavran (Croatia) will be performed on October 1.
The Kumanovo theatre will close the festival with a premiere.
Awards for best play, actor, actress, set design, costumes and director will be presented. The Bulgarian Culture and Information Centre in Skopje is a partner for the festival.
The non-competitive section of the Days of Comedy in Kumanovo includes two evenings of stage shows by students of drama and audio-visual arts from Skopje.
