There is heavy traffic at Bulgaria's border control checkpoints with Romania, Turkiye, Serbia, and Greece, Border Police said on their website Friday. The information is valid as at 6 am.

At the border with Romania, there is heavy traffic for trucks exiting Bulgaria through the Kardam and Somovit checkpoints. At Oryahovo, the ferry will not be working until 8 am on Saturday due to the low water level of the Danube. Due to repair works of the Giurgiu-Ruse bridge over the Danube on the Bulgarian side, traffic is controlled by  traffic lights to let vehicles through in stages. Alternatives for the drivers in the region are the Silistra, Kardam, Durankulak, Kaynardzha, and Kroushari crossings. The last two of these are closed to heavy-duty trucks; they are open to passenger cars from 8 am to 8 pm.

At the border with Greece, there is heavy traffic for passengers cars entering through the Kulata border crossing. Tourists are advised to use alternative checkpoints to the Kulata and Makaza crossings, such as Ilinden and Zlatograd, respectively. The Kapitan Petko Voyvoda crossing is also a good alternative. Heavy-duty trucks are not allowed through the Makaza, Zlatograd, and Ivaylovgrad checkpoints.

At the border with Serbia, there is heavy traffic for passenger cars exiting Bulgaria through the Kalotina checkpoint.

At the border with Turkiye, there is heavy traffic for cars entering Bulgaria through the Kapitan Andreevo and Lesovo checkpoints.

Traffic at the border crossings with North Macedonia is normal.
