site.btaTurkiye's Unemployment Rate Reaches 8.7% in Q1 of 2024

Unemployment in Turkiye in the first quarter of the year increased to 8.7%, shows data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (Turkstat).

The country's unemployment rate increased by 0.1% for the period January-March 2024 compared to the previous quarter.

The registered number of unemployed in the first months of this year was a total of 3.1 million people, having increased by 30,000 people.

The unemployment rate for men was 7.2% and for women 11.7%.
