A Bulgarian delegation led by acting Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov was received on Monday by Mehmet Akarca, President of the Court of Cassation of Turkiye, and Bekir Sahin, State Prosecutor of the Court of Cassation. The meeting was also attended by Bulgarian Interior Minister Kalin Stoyanov. The Bulgarian delegation was visiting Turkiye at Sahin's invitation, the Prosecutor General's Office in Sofia reported.

Sarafov also talked with Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya.

The sides noted the high level of confidence and the tradition of good cooperation between the judicial authorities of the two countries.

They stressed the contribution of Turkey and Bulgaria to curbing illegal migration in the region. The two delegations also discussed other aspects of bilateral cooperation in the field of law, including the countering of transborder organized crime and the fight against terrorism.
