site.btaInternal Security and Public Order Committee Chair Tsvetanov Meets with Europol Executive Director De Bolle

December 13 (BTA) - Internal Security and Public
Order Committee Chair Tsvetan Tsvetanov held a working meeting
with Europol Executive Director Catherine De Bolle on Thursday.
The two met on the sidelines of Tsvetanov's visit to Vienna to
participate in the 109th Europol Management Board Meeting in his
 capacity as Joint Parliamentary Scrutiny Group (JPSG)
representative, the National Assembly said.

Tsvetanov and De Bolle estimated highly the added value which
the cooperation between Europol and the JPSG gives to European
security. Tsvetanov noted that, in addition to its supervisory
function, the JPSG should commit to supporting Europol for its
better functioning.

The two discussed security threats that are within Europol's
mandate, and strenghtening of the cooperation with Western
Balkan countries. Tsvetanov and De Bolle agreed that
cybersecurity is one of the fastest changing and growing
challenges.

Tsvetanov and De Bolle discussed the Strasbourg Christmas market
 shooting on December 11, noting the importance of information
sharing between member states and the complete usage of Europol
