Sofia, December 13 (BTA) - Pope Francis will make an apostolic
journey to Bulgaria between May 5 and 7, 2019. The news was
announced by Bulgaria's Council of Ministers and the President's
Press Secretariat, quoting an official press release by the
Holy See.

Accepting an invitation extended by the Bulgarian authorities
and the Catholic Church in Bulgaria, the pontiff will visit the
capital Sofia and the southern town of Rakovski, which is one of
the centres of the Catholic community in this country. He will
then depart for Skopje, Macedonia, on May 7.

The programme of the Pope's visit to Bulgaria will be announced
