Haskovo, Southern Bulgaria, December 18 (BTA) - District Prosecutor's Office in Haskovo has charged a 45-year-old Serbian citizen with trafficking 10.345 kilos of heroin worth 931,050 leva across the border, the Plovdiv Appellate Prosecutor's Office said.

The drugs were discovered during a check at the Turkish-Bulgarian border. About 20 packages of light beige powder were found in the vehicle's spare tire later confirmed to be heroin.

Both the car and the drugs have been seized. The Haskovo Prosecutor's Office had the Serbian man detained for a period of 72 hours, the prosecution said. LI/DT
