Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria does not support the no-confidence motion, which was submitted Thursday by Morality, Unity, Honour (MECh), Nikolay Denkov, co-floor leader of CC-DB, told journalists in Parliament. Earlier, the leader of Vazrazhdane, Kostadin Kostadinov, said that the MECh would submit a vote of no confidence on corruption.

After a year and more of delay, for the first time we are starting to discuss laws under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP), related to the fight against corruption, Denkov said and noted that it is against this background that a vote of no confidence is being tabled. The aim is quite clear - to slow down Bulgaria's European development and obstruct the work of the National Assembly, which is what they tried to do with the budget, Denkov said.

As for the accusation that by not supporting the no-confidence motion CC-DB is backing the government, Denkov drew attention to the following: "If we were the government, we would not have a record debt of BGN 19 billion included in the budget, we would have more than BGN 100 million for science, which are currently missing in the ministry's budget, and we would have BGN 17 million for the repair of the Shipka monument, as well as for many other policies," Denkov said.

He was adamant that the vote only aims to hinder Bulgaria's European development. When Bulgaria has a date to join the eurozone and things become irreversible, because this is the national priority, then CC-DB will initiate its vote of no confidence and will seek support from everyone, Denkov added.

In his words, the euro area is a priority of priorities this year for Bulgaria. It is not just about money. What it is about is which union Bulgaria will belong to, so that it can protect its interests - economic, defence and in terms of the values that will determine the future of Bulgarians and Bulgarian children. "Will we be part of the European family or will we be left on the periphery," he added.

Denkov said it was more important now to pass the laws related to the NRRP, which would essentially prevent another case like the one in Plovdiv.

According to Denkov, there will be reasons for no-confidence votes every week.
