Minister of Tourism Miroslav Borshosh attended the opening of the active tourist season in Belogradchik on Saturday. He visited Vidin Region at the invitation of Regional Governor Ani Harutyunyan.
"Tourism is a very important part of life in Belogradchik. All of us, the State and local authorities, have a single task - to help, to work for a better life for all citizens ," Borshosh said during the official ceremony at Vazrazhdane Square. He expressed the belief that together, they can achieve much more.
After the ceremony, a stone plaque was unveiled with the words of French traveller Jerome-Adolphe Blanqui, written in 1841: “The narrow mountain Ollioules rorges in Provence, the pass of Pancorbo in Spain, the Alps, the Pyrenees, the wildest mountains of Tirol and Switzerland have nothing to compare with what I saw in Bulgaria at Belogradchik.”
After Belogradchik, the Tourism Minister also visited the neighbouring Municipality of Chuprene.
