Parliament Adopts at First Reading 2025 State Budget Bill

In the early hours of Thursday, the Parliament adopted at first reading the draft state budget for 2025 with 152 votes in favour, 73 against and no abstentions. It was supported by GERB-UDF, Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) - New Beginning, BSP - United Left, Democracy, Rights and Freedoms - DRF and There Is Such a People. Against were Continue the Change -Democratic Bulgaria, Vazrazhdane and Morality, Unity, Honour (MECh).

The deadline for proposals between the first and second reading of the bill will be five days, the MPs also decided. 

The debate in the plenary lasted more than four hours. Finance Minister Temenuzhka Petkova presented the draft budget to the MPs.
