Two Injured in Odesa Region after Russian Drone Attack

The Odesa Region was again subjected to a massive Russian drone attack, Odesa Regional Military Administration Head Oleh Kiper wrote on Telegram on Thursday. 

Two people were injured in the attack, one of whom is in hospital, the Regional Governor said. According to his information, the attack was aimed at civil and energy infrastructure of the seaside town of Pivdenne (formerly known as Yuzhne), 35 km from Odesa.

There was damage to an energy facility. More than 10,000 residents of Pivdenne were left without power supply. All emergency services are on site and are working on remediation.

Damage was also caused to private homes and apartment blocks, the glazing of an administrative building was damaged, as well as at least 15 cars.

Odesa Region is home to the third largest community of expatriate Bulgarians, numbering more than 150,000 people, according to an official population census in Ukraine in 2001. Between 50,000 and 60,000 Bulgarians live in the regional capital, Odesa, while others are concentrated in the districts of Bolhrad, Izmail, and Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi.
