A loud explosion shook Odesa on Saturday evening, where on that day the Bulgarian Consulate General celebrated the National Day of Bulgaria, March 3, with a cultural programme and a meeting of representatives of the Bulgarian community from Odesa, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions.

Minutes after the official guests attended a classical music concert at the Odesa Opera, a loud explosion sounded. The audience hid in the opera's bomb shelter.

Among the Bulgarian guests was Rositsa Kirova, Chairperson of the parliamentary Committee on Direct Participation of Citizens, Citizens’ Complaints and Interaction with Civil Society.
