Cadets from Vietnam are being trained at the Air Force Academy in Dolna Mitropolia, said Academy Rector Brigadier General Julian Radoyski here on Monday.

The cadets will take a course in Bulgarian language in 2025, after which their flight training will begin. "We have restored an old tradition from 40 years ago, when a lot of Vietnamese cadets were trained here. We are starting with five (students) and we hope that the number will increase in the coming years," he said. He pointed out that there are also talks about pilot training of technical staff from Armenia and Nigeria.

The Vietnamese cadets will be trained for a total of five years. "They are hardworking and follow orders, so quite a good selection was made in Vietnam," commented Radoyski, adding that the students have big ambitions and that he expects them to graduate successfully and have a good career. The start of their training was attended by Vietnamese Embassy's Defence Attaché Ha Man Hung.
