Junior Coalition Partners
from United Patriots
May Sign Separate Agreements with GERB

July 25 (BTA) - VMRO leader Krassimir Karakachanov did not rule out a possibility for parties in the power sharing United Patriots coalition to sign separate agreements with GERB for support of the government. He spoke to journalists after a meeting of the National Council for Cooperation on Ethnic and Integration Issues at the Council of Ministers on Thursday. Karakachanov said that each of the parties may sign an agreement with GERB based on the general agreement and continue to support the government.

On Wednesday evening a Coalition Council meeting of the United Patriots with the leaders of the three member parties fell through.

Karakachanov reiterated that the coalition has been non-existent for several months because of the lack of dialogue. There have been subversion and attacks by one of the coalition leasders against the other two political formations along with lies and insults. Karakachanov said that he wouldn't be a part of such a coalition.

Asked about the possibilities for parties in the junior coalition to smooth out their differences Karakachanov asked the media whether Ataka leader Volen Siderov had given the impression yesterday of being willing to resolve any differences. "What's the point in continuing to talk in this way," said Karakachanov, and underscore that he was not announcing that his party is leaving the United Patriots coalition. LI/PP//
