Bulgaria’s Foreign Minister Ivan Kondov has conferred with Albania’s Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, at the sidelines of a ministerial meeting of the Central European Initiative member states in Tirana, Kondov’s Ministry said in a press release on Wednesday.

The pair welcomed the excellent state of bilateral relations and reaffirmed their willingness to further strengthen sectoral cooperation.

Hasani expressed his country’s appreciation for Bulgaria’s consistent support for Albania in its EU accession process. Kondov praised his counterpart for the progress made in the implementation of European reforms, including the protection of the rights of national minorities. The sides confirmed both countries’ strong commitment to speed up the implementation of Corridor VIII.
