site.bta Customs Officials Seize Contraband Silver Jewellery Worth BGN 83,000 Near Haskovo

Customs officers found over 10 kg of contraband silver jewellery worth nearly BGN 83,000 during an inspection of a passenger minibus at the Kapitan Andreevo border checkpoint near Haskovo, said the Plovdiv Appellate Prosecutor's Office on Friday. 

The vehicle had foreign number plates was travelling from Turkiye to Ukraine via Bulgaria.

A 37-year-old Ukrainian citizen, who was driving the minibus, was detained. A pre-trial proceeding has been initiated in the case.
