The certification of the machines for the upcoming elections is expected to begin within days, said Minister of Electronic Government Valentin Mundrov during a regular meeting convened by Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev to prepare for the October 27 vote, the cabinet's press service announced on Friday.

"We are prepared to begin the certification process. I anticipate receiving the machines and starting the procedure next week," Mundrov said, confirming that all activities are proceeding according to the initial schedule and without delays. Mundrov also said that, for the first time, the public was shown the hall where the machine certification will take place.

Minister of Innovations and Growth Rosen Karadimov reported on the results of meetings with regional governors and representatives of the territorial units of General Directorate for Civil Registration and Administrative Services (GRAO) in the planning regions. Karadimov is set to initiate the final meeting in the Northwestern Planning Region, which includes the regions of Vidin, Montana, Vratsa, Pleven, and Lovech.

At the meeting, Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev briefed the ministers on the topics discussed during a meeting with the team from the General Consulate of Bulgaria in Istanbul earlier this week. Once the consolidated proposals from the consulate regarding the election organisation are received, they will be sent to the Central Election Commission.
