site.btaYes, Bulgaria’s Ivaylo Mirchev: No Single Party Will Have Majority in Next Parliament
“It should be clear that no party will have a majority of 121 MPs in the next legislature. It should also be clear that no two parties will have 121 MPs, and because of this, a very difficult solution will be sought. However, it is very difficult to start a real conversation with parties that pretend to be "pleasantly absent-minded" in relation to Delyan Peevski,” said Ivaylo Mirchev from Yes Bulgaria!, part of the coalition Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria on Bulgarian National Radio.
We can’t start talks with GERB when we do not know whether we are talking to GERB or Peevski, Mirchev said. He was adamant that there should be a government after the elections and added that there should be a coalition in some form.
According to Mirchev, Peevski is untouchable in Bulgaria. The head of the State Agency for National Security should go to Parliament and say what he has regarding Peevski and what may have been concealed over the years. He added that the Prosecutor General should immediately move to strip Peevski of his immunity. Boyko Borissov should also say what he thinks about stripping Peevski of immunity, he added.
Asked about the desire of some parties to reverse the amendments in the Constitution, the MP pointed out that the changes in the Constitution have been approved by the Venice Commission as well as the European Commission. Saying that the amendments are bad means going against Europe, Mirchev believes.
