site.btaNPPs, NPP Construction Sites Become Sites of National Importance
The National Assembly Wednesday adopted amendments at first and second reading to the Safe Use of Nuclear Energy Act, regulating the status of nuclear power plants (NPPs) and NPP construction sites approved by the chair of the Nuclear Regulatory as sites of national importance.
The bill was tabled by MPs Delyan Dobrev (GERB-UDF) and Stanislav Anastasov (Movement for Rights and Freedoms).
Sites of national importance and national sites are NPPs or NPP projects, as well as approved NPP construction sites, which have not been designated as such sites by a decision of the Council of Ministers until the Act’s entry into force.
