Bulgarian high school student Niya Parusheva won an individual medal for outstanding performance during her participation in the one-week training camp Space Camp Turkiye. Her achievement is the result of her perseverance and passion for science and space, the Center for Creative Training, an official partner of the programme for Bulgaria, reported on Monday.
Parusheva won a scholarship that gave her the opportunity to attend the camp. She won her medal there among some 200 other participants from five countries.
Space Camp Turkiye in the city of Izmir is one of two space training centres in the world modelled on NASA. It offers an intensive program focused on STEAM - science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics. Attendees of the camp can take advantage of its simulators that are used to train astronauts.
