site.btaBulgarians' Transport Costs Decline Considerably in 2018 - Eurostat

January 8 (BTA) - In Bulgaria, the share of transport costs of the population was 13.3 per cent of all costs in 2018 and the country showed one of the most considerably declines of this parameter for the 2008-2018 period, Eurostat said Wednesday.

EU-wide, households spent for transport a total of 1.1 trillion euro in 2018, which is 13.2 per cent of all costs and 7.2 per cent of the EU gross domestic product.

Each EU citizen spent for transport 1,220 euro in 2018.

Transport is the second biggest spending item for people in the EU, following only housing costs with their share of 24 per cent. Next come food and soft drinks with 12.1 per cent. LN/RI
