The National Revenue Agency (NRA) said that a complaint by Dzhevder Chakarov, one of the two leaders of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF), of undue pressure from the financial authorities, was "a gross interference in their work because he insinuated that they act under pressure against anybody, in this case against representatives of a certain political force".

The NRA put out a special statement on Friday shortly after Chakarov and fellow MRF expellees held a news conference to make public their complaint.

NRA also called it "a gross attempt to undermine the prestige of one of the most trusted state institutions, which undermines trust in Statehood among people".

NRA rejects the accusations and said that it refuses to be drawn into scandals and accounts-settling.

It says further that it does not do audits under political pressure and has not ordered such audits.
