site.btaCost of Living for Three-Member Family at BGN 2,615 in June - Trade Unions

In June 2024, a family of three (two working adults and a child up to 14 years old) in Bulgaria needed a net monthly income of BGN 2,615 to cover the cost of living. A person living alone needed BGN 1,453, the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria (CITUB) says in an analysis which was presented at a news conference on Wednesday.

The income necessary to cover the cost of living in June decreased by 0.1% quarter on quarter and increased by 3.6% year on year.

CITUB President Plamen Dimitrov called for a national definition of "cost-of-living income", and proposed that the National Statistical Institute announce its value every quarter. This will give people an idea how much money they need to live relatively well by Bulgarian standards.
