January 22 (BTA) - The National Commission for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings received 77 alerts in 2019, the Commission's press centre said Wednesday. Sixty-three of these alerts were for human trafficking, of which 30 for sex trafficking, 15 for labour exploitation, 10 for forced begging, 6 for high risk of involvement in human trafficking, and one alert for newborn child trafficking.

The alerts concern 94 persons identified as victims of human trafficking, of whom 44 men (including seven underage boys) and 50 women (including nine underage girls). Thirteen persons were victims of similar crimes, such as infringement on labour rights, domestic violence, and children at risk.

Last year, 25 victims of human trafficking received support from the National Commission for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings in the coastal cities of Bourgas and Varna. Nine of them were successfully integrated in the labour market in 2019.
